To create a relay team, follow the below steps. Use the system to create the best teams by using Auto Find or Add NT Relays, or you can build them yourself using Manual Add.

Auto Find

Four swimmers with individual times are needed to build a relay time. For example, in a 400 free relay, you need four swimmers with a 100 free time.

  1. In the side menu click Events & Competition > Team Events.

  2. Click the desired event’s Edit Commitment button.

  3. Click the Committed Athletes tab.

  4. Click the Relay Teams tab.

  5. Click the Auto Find link appearing next to the desired Relay.

This will take you to the “Find Best Relay Teams” screen.

  6. Select the desired filters.

    • If it's a free relay, select the Leg Order Logic.

    • If it's a mixed gender relay, select the Mixed Relay Option (2 Females + 2 Males, or Any Combination of Genders).

  7. Optional: To exclude athletes from being considered for this relay team,

    • Click Add at the bottom.

    • Enter your filters and click Search or click Display ALL Qualifying Members.

    • Check the boxes next to the athletes to exclude.

    • Click Exclude Athlete(s) from this Relay. Repeat these steps to exclude more athletes.

    • When finished, click Close.

    • Selections are saved and appear again from relay to relay.

  8. Click the Next button to generate the best relay teams available based on the parameters selected.

    • If no athletes appear, that means there aren't at least four athletes with prior times for that event and you will need to use either Manual Add or Add NT Relays instead (see below).

  9. Select the team to add, click Add Selected Relay Teams, click OK to confirm, and it will populate the athlete leg assignments.

  10. After building the teams, select one or more teams and click Remove Athletes From Teams to simply have an entry time without athletes.

Add NT Relays

If there are not enough athletes with prior times in order for Auto Find to work, use Add NT Relays to automatically build relay teams with swimmers who have no times. It automatically picks swimmers from oldest to youngest for each team. To pick them yourself, see Manual Add below.

  1. In the side menu click Events & Competition > Team Events.

  2. Click your desired event’s Edit Commitment button.

  3. Click the Committed Athletes tab.

  4. Click the Relay Teams tab.

  5. Click Add NT Relays to the right of the desired relay.

  6. Enter the number of relay teams to build.

  7. To build relay teams with swimmers, leave the drop-down set to Add NT Swimmers.

  8. To create empty relay teams with no swimmers in order to deck enter them, change the drop-down to Leave Blank.

  9. Optionally check the boxes to only search for committed athletes and/or athletes in the relay session.

  10. Click Add.

Manual Add

Use Manual Add if Auto Find doesn't work due to not enough athletes having prior times in that relay.

  1. In the side menu click Events & Competition > Team Events.

  2. Click the desired event’s Edit Commitment button.

  3. Click the Committed Athletes tab.

  4. Click the Relay Teams tab.

  5. Click the Manual Add link to the right of the desired leg of the relay.

  6. Click Select in the Athlete Leg Assignments section. From here all athletes who qualify for the event appear.

  7. Optionally set filters at the top and click Search to narrow down the list.

  8. Click the checkbox next to the names of the desired athlete for each leg. The leg number will automatically increase with each selection.

    • In the case of medley relays like in the screenshot above, make sure to choose legs in the proper order (back, breast, fly, free). As you choose one leg, the best times for the next leg will automatically sort from fastest to slowest to make the selection faster.

  9. Click Assign Athletes to Legs button when finished.

  10. Click Remove All to remove all four athletes so as to be left with an entry time only.

  11. Optionally, add backup athletes by clicking Add below Backup Athletes.

  12. Click Save Changes.

  13. After building the teams, you may select one or more teams and click Remove Athletes From Teams to simply have an entry time without athletes.
